We've recently seen an increase in fraudulent "spam" accounts and phishing attempts on our platform. To keep your account and finances safe, we encourage all Slated members to use extra caution and read the guidance below.
Slated staff won't email you for financial details
Slated will never ask you to share your banking or billing details over email. This includes your credit card number, CVV/security code, bank account or routing number, or any one-time verification code. Any messages asking you to send this information by email should be treated as fraudulent, even if they appear to come from us. Do not reply, and do not click any links they may contain.
Common warning signs
Fraudulent messages and phishing attempts will often contain warning signs. Be cautious if a message asks you to send payment, banking, or billing details or creates a false sense of urgency ("your account will be closed in 24 hours").
Protect your account
Keep payment details inside your Slated account settings only. Use a strong, unique password and never share verification codes with anyone, including anyone claiming to be our support staff.
Practice healthy habits - do not click on links without knowing exactly what they are and that they are coming from a known, trusted source.
Limit who can message you
Should you want to guard your inbox from unwanted communications, we recommend editing your project's communication settings. To do this, navigate to your film page, click on Edit Settings, and scroll to the Communications field. Under the prompt "Who can start a new message thread with the project admins?" select Opportunity Matches Only.
This ensures that only people actively matching to the project in the roles you've designated are able to message you.
When in doubt, report it
If you're ever unsure whether a message from Slated is genuine, don't act on it. You may report anything suspicious to our team directly at support@slated.com and we're happy to investigate.
Thank you for helping us keep the Slated community safe.
